A downtown loft in a landmarked building where the 2006 movie “The Devil Wears Prada,” starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, was filmed is holding a casting call for its next owner.
The stately listing inside the cast-iron building, at 56 Crosby St. in Soho, is asking $8.99 million.
Specifically, this second-floor unit is directly below one that appeared in the film as the fictional downtown bachelor pad of designer James Holt, played by actor Daniel Sunjata. Both units share the same floor plan.
The for-sale spread was stylishly staged by Cheryl Eisen’s Interior Marketing Group. It asked a higher $9.5 million last May.
At 4,440 square feet, the home features two bedrooms and 2½ baths. Design details include 16-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls, Corinthian columns, an elevated glass conservatory and large windows overlooking Broadway.
Renovated and designed by David Howell, the abode opens to an entry gallery that leads to a great room with an oversize gas fireplace and a wall of hidden cabinets. Stairs then head to a mezzanine level with views of the large chef’s kitchen.
There’s also a home gym and temperature-controlled wine storage for up to 400 bottles. A retractable projection screen transforms the living room into a home theater, where, perhaps, a new owner can watch “The Devil Wears Prada.”

The six-story boutique building, in the Soho Cast Iron Historic District, features just 10 units. It was a former department store and converted to condo lofts around 2001.
