Gucci family lists two Italian villas for $16.4M

In the heart of Rome, Italy, a pair of palatial properties have hit the market — the sellers none other than the family behind the famed Gucci brand.

“It is a special property for three reasons,” listing agent Chiara Gennarelli of Forbes Global Properties told The Post of the compound, which is currently seeking $16.45 million, before mentioning it being “really close to the center of Rome,” it having an enormous amount of outdoor space (a rarity for such a prime location) and the panoramic views it offers of the city.

“From the rooftop, you can see all of Rome, even the altar of the homeland,” she said, referring to the famed Victor Emmanuel II National Monument near the Colosseum.

The abode was built by family patriarch Aldo Gucci in the late 1940s after he left Florence for Rome.

Completed in 1951, the estate was inspired by a mixture of English and Tuscan style, according to the listing.

Initially Aldo shared the house with his children and their spouses, the listing continues. As the Gucci family grew, though, the children moved elsewhere, but the address remained a central gathering place known as the “Family House” and hosted many a holiday gathering.

Then, in the 1960s, Aldo built one of his sons a villa — the second of the properties included in the sale.

“The two villas have both belonged to the Gucci family for many, many years; now the heirs have decided to find a buyer who can breathe new life into the property, enhancing its value,” the listing explains.

The second villa is notably in “need of renovation.”

Highlights of the villas, in addition to their famous longtime owners, include the fact that they are gated, surrounded by lots of parkland and also have a swimming pool.
