Tech mogul Eric Schmidt has put his sprawling Bay Area compound on the market.
The more than 3-acre property — created by combining three contiguous parcels of land in the tony town of Atherton, home to the nation’s priciest ZIP code for seven consecutive years — is seeking $24.5 million.
Compass agent Katherine Carroll, who holds the listing, declined to name the sellers, but SFGate confirmed that it’s the former Google CEO, 69, and his wife, philanthropist Wendy Schmidt, 68, based on prior reporting.
The couple purchased the property, located on the “ultra-private” Walsh Road and known as the Walsh Estate, in 1990. They subsequently added two more parcels of land and extensively remodeled its original main house, which was first constructed in 1969, according to press materials provided to The Post.
The California- and European-inspired main house features more than 5,300 square feet spread over two levels, which include a formal, bay-windowed dining room overlooking the pool, a living room with doors leading to a pool terrace, a fireplace-equipped office and a family room with wet bar.
Additionally, there’s a sunroom, a primary suite with private terrace, dual water closets, a dressing room and a detached three-car garage with a recreation room below.
The grounds — which “are akin to a fine botanical garden,” according to the listing — are extensively landscaped and offer a greenhouse with a service garage and powder room, a stand-alone guest house and a dedicated building for a security team.
“Working with the elevation and hillside, the landscape design creates a feeling of peace, but also provides a natural level of privacy not found in the flats of Atherton,” listing agent Carroll told The Post. “While this property has served the sellers so well, the possibilities of developing features to incorporate the views are so exciting. Someone will be able to build their own fabulous legacy at Walsh Estate.”
