Monte Lipman, CEO of Republic Records — whose artists include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Drake, John Mellencamp, Nicki Minaj, Florence + The Machine and the Jonas Brothers — and his spouse, Dr. Angelina Lipman, have plunked down $4.39 million for an “Enchanted” Lenox Hill co-op at 812 Fifth Ave.
The couple have been raising their three kids at an estate in Westchester County’s Katonah, according to reports, but Monte’s office is in the city.
Their new crash pad — once owned by hotel honcho Howard Johnson — hit the market for $6.49 million in 2022. A “classic seven,” two-bedroom apartment, it opens to a marble-floored entrance gallery adorned with designer lighting, millwork and brass details.
There’s also an open living room with Central Park views, a formal dining room, a windowed eat-in kitchen, and a library large enough to convert to an extra bedroom. A park-facing main bedroom comes with two walk-in closets and a marble en-suite bath.
The 19-story, limestone-clad building dates to 1963 and boasts plenty of pedigree: Vice President Nelson Rockefeller once lived there, and billionaire Ralph Nakash, who created the Jordache jeans empire with his brothers, Joe and Avi, currently calls it home. (The Nakash family, who’ve expanded their enterprises to real estate and hotels, also own several Miami properties, including the Versace mansion, a k a Casa Casuarina; Hotel Victor; and the hotel portion of The Setai Miami Beach.) Nakash bought Rockefeller’s former unit for $6.9 million in 2014, as Gimme exclusively reported.
The listing broker for Lipman’s new “Blank Space” was Douglas Elliman’s Iman (Bacodari) Barkhordari.
