This boy wonder co-founded Mozilla Firefox as a teenager — and just bought an $8.25M NYC home

Former boy wonder Blake Ross, 38, who co-founded the web browser Mozilla Firefox when he was just a teenager, is the latest boldface buyer at the Renzo Piano-designed 565 Broome St. condo in Soho.

Ross, who has written with grace and humor about his condition of aphantasia — which means he can’t “see” anything in his mind’s eye and grew up thinking no one else could either — paid $8.25 million for the three-bedroom, 3½-bath condo, Gimme Shelter has learned.

At 2,512 square feet, the 24th-floor residence comes with city skyline and Hudson River views. It had been on the market for $8.5 million, down from its $8.9 million asking price in 2022. (The seller paid $6.99 million for the unit in 2020.)

Pritzker Prize-winning Piano, 87, is a revered architect known for creating the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, the Shard in London and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York; 565 Broome was his first residential project. Owners at the eco-green luxury building include Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick, who paid $36.4 million for the penthouse that includes a private rooftop pool, a private elevator and three terraces.

Mary Trump — Donald Trump’s niece and one of his fiercest critics, who published a 2020 tell-all — also bought a $7 million spread in the glassy building. Other boldface buyers include Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic, who got two separate units in the building for around $11 million when it was still under construction, according to reports.

Ross’s new digs open with keyed elevator access to a large foyer that leads to the living room. There’s also an open chef’s kitchen and a main bedroom suite with a spa-like bath and a walk-in closet.

The building boasts more than 17,000 square feet of amenities including a 55-foot lap pool, a steam and sauna room, a yoga room and a gym — along with a children’s playroom, a landscaped lounge, a library with a wet bar and cold storage.

Ross’s purchase also includes a deeded parking spot. The listing broker was Scott Francis of Serhant.
