He’s got the beat!
The Upper West Side home of longtime “Late Show with David Letterman” drummer Anton Fig and his wife, actress Laura Sametz, is on the market for $2.69 million.
The loft-like apartment, at 380 Riverside Drive, is a large prewar three-bedroom, two-bath, with views over the Hudson River.
Fig was the drummer for the Paul Shaffer-led house group since 1986 when it was known as “The World’s Most Dangerous Band.” He has also performed with Bob Dylan, Warren Zevon, B.B. King, Ace Frehley of Kiss, Joan Armatrading and Cyndi Lauper, to name a few.
The building, which dates to 1907, is by Riverside Park. At 1,700 square feet, the seventh-floor unit opens to a foyer that leads to a living/dining area with oversize windows and river vistas. There’s also a windowed chef’s kitchen.
The main bedroom comes with a built-in desk with shelves and original moldings. Design details also include 9-foot-9-inch ceilings, hardwood oak floors and custom blinds.
Building amenities feature a doorman, a resident super, laundry, storage, a bike room and an onsite garage “with a waitlist.”
Born in Cape Town and originally known as a South African session drummer, Fig was Letterman’s drummer for 29 years. After Letterman retired, Fig worked with Joe Bonamassa for six years before leaving the group during the pandemic in 2021. But he’s still going strong — and nowhere near retiring.
