Dolly Parton has paused from her entertainment career and switched gears to focus on her work as a real estate executive.
The Dollywood Company, a joint venture between the music legend and Herschend Enterprises, acquired an office and retail building in downtown Nashville for an undisclosed sum. The 11-story, 233,300-square-foot property was constructed in 2000 and renovated last year; it includes a 400-plus space parking garage.
Parton’s plans for the property were not announced, although the Nashville Business Journal cited unnamed sources in stating the property will be converted into a hotel.
“Since the pandemic, commercial real estate is becoming an opportunity,” Parton said in a statement. “I strongly believe in the future of Nashville and feel this is a great investment.”
