Famed singer/songwriter Bob Dylan has bid adieu to his sprawling 16-bedroom mansion nestled in the Scottish Highlands, fetching $5.35 million in the deal, Mansion Global reports.
The sale, inked for $1.4 million over the initial asking price of $3.9 million, marks the end of an era for Dylan, who listed the majestic Aultmore House in July.
Dylan, accompanied by his brother, acquired the property in 2006 for around $2.8 million — when converted in today’s figures — through a limited liability company connected to his late business manager, according to property records.
Though they cherished periodic visits, the siblings have decided to part ways with the estate, citing their lack of recent use.
The buyer revealed by recent records is none other than Angus Dundee Distillers, a prominent name in the world of Scotch whisky.
The distillery, recognized for its single malt, blended and deluxe spirits, owns two facilities — one nearby this estate and another along Scotland’s east coast.
The new owner didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Aultmore House, a magnificent three-story dwelling constructed in the early 1900s, boasts a rich history and stunning vistas overlooking Abernethy Forest towards the majestic Cairngorm mountains.
Original architectural marvels, including marble fireplaces, intricate plasterwork and timber floors, adorn the more than 18,000-square-foot manor.
Knight Frank’s listing highlights a plethora of features within the estate, from a billiards room and a garden retreat — to multiple kitchens, offices and even a dedicated music room.
There are also gardens, a Victorian greenhouse, an orchard and a croquet lawn dotting the almost 24-acre landscape.
Dylan’s affection for the Scottish Highlands echoes through his 1997 melody “Highlands,” capturing the essence of the region’s allure with poetic precision.
Dylan’s representatives were unavailable for comment.
As the sale finalizes, Dylan’s ongoing global tour, Rough and Rowdy Ways, enters its final phase, slated to culminate in 2024.
Sources close to the legendary musician have previously hinted that this might be his farewell tour, marking the end of an unparalleled musical journey.
The singer still has his Malibu estate, which he has owned since 1980.
