This estate has the right recipe for market success.
A Savannah compound originally built by TV chef and Georgia native Paula Deen, 76, and husband Michael Groover back in 2009, has once again been acquired for a record-setting price.
The property, which has now twice been Savannah’s highest residential sale, changed hands this month for $8.4 million, beating its previous record-setting sale of $6.818 million, back in 2020.
“Vila Sacadura is a truly exceptional property, and the sale record is just a reflection of how special this property is, an iconic piece of coastal Savannah,” said Ridley Stallings, who shared the listing with Melissa Hall Rowan, both of Corcoran Austin Hill Realty, in a statement.
The most recent owners — not Deen — gave the estate its current name.
Set on over 4.6 acres and located directly on the Wilmington River, the address boasts 28,000 square feet of living space spread across a main house, barn and two guest cottages.
“As you pass through the gated entry, you are instantly swept away to your own private resort with lush gardens, stocked pond & outdoor recreation areas,” boasts the former listing. “This estate is not just a home but a lifestyle, a sanctuary & the epitome of coastal living on the Wilmington River.”
Highlights of the interior include a primary suite with river views, a fireplace and sitting area, a commercial appliance-equipped kitchen and a saltwater fish tank.
Throughout there are soaring ceilings and a certain southern charm.
On the grounds, there’s a pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen pavilion, 300 feet of deep water frontage and a floating dock with dock house, not to mention plenty of dining areas for al fresco meals.
In all, according to property details shared with The Post, there are 14 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.
