Ilya Kovalchuk nabs a buyer for NJ mansion amid listing Miami Beach condo

Russian-born All-Star hockey player Ilya Kovalchuk and his wife, Russian singer Nicole Andrazajtis Kovalchuk, have found a buyer for their New Jersey mansion, located in affluent Alpine.

The sale price, we hear, is close to the last asking price of $10.9 million — a major hit from the property’s initial $17.99 million ask in 2019. But the house is still a shell. The new buyer plans to invest more than $6 million to complete it, sources tell Gimme Shelter.

At the same time, the Kovalchuks have put their modern Miami Beach luxury condo on the market for $14.5 million after buying it for $8.5 million last year.

In Alpine, the Kovalchuks began to build their dream home at 10 Frick Drive — then an empty 2-acre lot that they bought for $4.5 million in 2010 — when Ilya scored a 15-year, $100 million contract with the New Jersey Devils. But they never completed the house. In 2013, Ilya left the NHL and returned to Russia with his family. He played in his native land before returning to the NHL in 2018.

The 22,000-square-foot mansion comes with eight bedrooms, 11 full baths and three powder rooms, and an indoor plunge pool on the main floor. There’s a massive banquet-size dining room, a chef’s kitchen, a walk-in pantry and wine storage — along with a finished basement with a lounge, a theater, a bar and a one-bedroom guest suite. Design details include 12-foot-high ceilings, hardwood floors, multiple fireplaces, staircases and an elevator.

The Alpine estate is adjacent to a 60-acre property — estimated by brokers to be worth $300 million — where tennis star Novak Djokovic stays when he’s in the Big Apple for the US Open. The estate comes with a high-tech tennis facility. The owner is Gordon Uehling, a former professional tennis player.

The listing broker is Dennis McCormack of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty.

But the Kovalchuks’ bigger score may be on Fisher Island in Miami Beach.

Built in 2019, that listed residence, at 6882 Fisher Island Drive, comes with three bedrooms, 3½ baths and a private elevator. Details include wide-plank oak wood floors, an open living/dining area with floor-to-ceiling windows, an eat-in chef’s kitchen, and a large wrap terrace overlooking Biscayne Bay and the ocean. The main bedroom suite opens to the terrace and is also equipped with a spa-like bath.

The listing broker is Tatyana Ionin of Coldwell Banker Realty.
