One Wall Street becomes NYC’s latest tower with a private restaurant

As the global 1% continue to gobble up luxury properties in New York, one of the most coveted perks is a private restaurant — so residents and their guests never have to leave their gilded palaces.

Top chefs like Shaun Hergatt (432 Park Ave.) and Jean-Georges Vongerichten (220 Central Park South) already service uptown towers.

Now, One Wall Street delivers another downtown private dining perk with its One Club restaurant, helmed by Chef Alejandro Cortez, formerly the executive chef at the Guggenheim.

It’s part of a 100,000-square-foot amenity space on the 39th floor of the 654-foot-tall, 56-story tower.

Cortez’s seasonal Mediterranean-inspired menu focuses on the coastal regions of France and Italy, and includes special event options and tastings. No reservations are required, but there are monthly themed, reservation-only three-course dinners.

The restaurant will also host wine tastings and bartender-style workshop classes.

Unlike many stand-alone private clubs, there is no monthly minimum for food. That means no unwelcome surprises, like at 432 Park, where the required monthly dining fee service jumped from $1,200 a year in 2015 to $15,000 a year in 2021, as dining room hours decreased and even the “free” breakfast was taken off the menu.

At One Wall, the restaurant has 24 seats, plus eight at the bar, a private dining room for 16 and a lounge with club seating for 24 people. There’s also a 4,500-square-foot landscaped terrace with full service and views of the Statue of Liberty.

The building even has a signature cocktail: the Barcelona Gin & Tonic, along with Italian coffees and free coffee on the sixth-floor co-working space. Morning people take note: It’s not open for breakfast and there’s no weekend brunch service. Hours are Tuesday to Friday, noon to 9 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Residents began moving in earlier this year.

Condos currently on the market range from $1.1 million for a studio to $9.7 million for a three-bedroom. Penthouse pricing is not yet revealed.
