How jobs returning to the office might impact commercial real estate in Milwaukee

Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Many workers in the Milwaukee area have spent much of the past three years working remotely from home, or perhaps a hybrid situation where office attendance has been slowly returning to pre-pandemic levels.

According to Kastle, a provider of building security systems, office attendance reached 50% in January for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. This comes alongside data from LinkedIn that shows remote job opportunities have been shrinking, from a peak of 20% of all job postings in March 2020 to 14% in Nov. 2022.

With more people returning to the office, the impact on the commercial real estate market is likely to be significant.

David Pudlosky, Managing Director with JLL Milwaukee, a commercial real estate firm, joined us on Thursday, March 9 to discuss the impact of a return-to-office push in Milwaukee.
